Who we are

JummahPlanner ("we", "us", "our") is a web-based platform that helps mosques and community organisations plan and manage their weekly Friday (Jummah) prayers. Our contact email is admin@jummahplanner.com.

What data we collect

• Account data: email address, name, phone number, profile photo (optional).
• Organisation data: organisation name, alias, address, organiser contact details.
• Usage data: session assignments, availability preferences, notification logs.
• Technical data: IP address, browser user-agent (stored in session tokens for security), cookies required for authentication.

How we use your data

• To operate the platform — managing rotas, sending reminders, displaying public prayer schedules.
• To authenticate you via magic-link emails.
• To send transactional emails and SMS (session reminders, role approvals, email verification codes).
• We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

Lawful basis

We process your data on the basis of:

• Legitimate interest: to operate and improve the platform.
• Consent: you provide your data voluntarily when signing up. You can opt out of email/SMS reminders from your profile.
• Contract: to deliver the service you or your organisation signed up for.

Data sharing

• IONOS (hosting & email): our hosting and SMTP provider, based in the EU.
• WaSender (WhatsApp): used to send WhatsApp reminders when configured by an organisation. Subject to WaSender's privacy policy.
• Public-facing pages display volunteer names for roles marked as public (Imam, Muadhin, Duty Manager) as part of the service.

Data retention

We retain your data for as long as your account or organisation is active. If you or your admin deletes your volunteer profile or organisation, associated data is removed. Notification logs are kept for up to 12 months for audit purposes.

Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. You can update your details from your dashboard profile, or contact us at admin@jummahplanner.com to request data export or deletion.

Cookies

We use a single essential authentication cookie (jf_session) to keep you signed in for up to 90 days. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via the platform.
