Summary

What exactly is our message to the world? This khutbah clarifies the core of what Islam calls humanity towards.

Part One — First Khutbah

Opening — Khutbat al-Hajah

Man yahdihillahu fala mudilla lah, wa man yudlil fala hadiya lah.

Amma ba'd. Fa inna khairal hadeethi kitabullah, wa khayral hadyi hadyu Muhammadin sallallahu 'alayhi wa sallam, wa sharral umuri muhdathatuha, wa kulla muhdathatin bid'ah, wa kulla bid'atin dalalah, wa kulla dalalatin fin-nar.

Dear brothers and sisters in Islam,

The Same Message of Every Prophet

Brothers and sisters, if someone asked you: "What is Islam's message to the world?" — could you answer clearly in one sentence? Many of us would struggle. We might say "peace" or "submission" or give a complicated theological explanation. But the core message is beautifully simple — it is the same message every Prophet was sent with:

"Wa laqad ba'athna fee kulli ummatin rasulan ani'budullaha wajtanibut-taghut." (An-Nahl, 16:36)
"And We certainly sent into every nation a messenger, saying: Worship Allah and avoid false gods."

This is the message — from Nuh to Ibrahim, from Musa to 'Isa, and finally Muhammad, sallallahu 'alayhi wa sallam. One message: La ilaha illallah — there is no god worthy of worship except Allah.

What Does This Message Offer Humanity?

1. Liberation from servitude to creation. When you worship Allah alone, you are free from worshipping money, status, fame, desire, or other human beings. Tawheed liberates the soul from every form of slavery except slavery to the Creator.

2. True justice. Islam provides a framework of justice that is not subject to the whims of political power. Allah says:

"Innallaha ya'muru bil-'adli wal-ihsan." (An-Nahl, 16:90)
"Indeed, Allah commands justice and excellence."

3. Dignity for every human being. Islam declared the sanctity of human life, property, and honour 1400 years ago:

"Wa laqad karramna banee adam." (Al-Isra, 17:70)
"And We have certainly honoured the children of Adam."

4. Hope and accountability. Islam tells humanity: your life is not meaningless, your suffering is not random, and there is a life after this life where every injustice will be corrected and every good deed will be rewarded.

Our Duty to Convey

We are the carriers of this message. It is not ours to hoard — it is ours to share. The Prophet, sallallahu 'alayhi wa sallam, said in his Farewell Sermon:

"Let those who are present convey to those who are absent." (Sahih al-Bukhari, 105; Sahih Muslim, 1679)

We convey through our words, our actions, our character, and our community. Every Muslim is an ambassador of this message — whether they realise it or not.
Aqulu qauli hada, wa astaghfirullaha li wa lakum wa li sa'iril muslimeen, fas taghfiruh, innahu huwal Ghafurur Rahim.

Part Two — Second Khutbah

Bismillah, wal hamdulillah, was-salatu was-salamu 'ala Rasulillah, sallallahu 'alayhi wa sallam.

Brothers and sisters,

Your Takeaway — Two Actions This Week

First: Practise explaining Islam's message in one clear, simple sentence. Something like: "Islam teaches that there is One God who created us with purpose, and we will return to Him for accountability — so we should live with justice, compassion, and worship of Him alone." Practise it until it flows naturally.

Second: Live the message visibly this week. Be the embodiment of what Islam teaches — justice, honesty, kindness, generosity. The best dawah is not a lecture — it is a life well lived.

"Wa man ahsanu qawlan mimman da'a ilallahi wa 'amila salihan wa qala innanee minal-muslimeen." (Fussilat, 41:33)
"And who is better in speech than one who invites to Allah and does righteousness and says: Indeed, I am of the Muslims."

Closing Du'a

Allahumma a'izzal islama wal muslimeen.

Allahumma irham al-muslimeena fee kulli makaan.

Allahumma a'inna 'ala dhikrika wa shukrika wa husni 'ibadatik.

Rabbana atina fid-dunya hasanatan wa fil-akhirati hasanatan wa qina 'adhaban-nar.

Rabbana la tuzigh quloobana ba'da idh hadaytana wa hab lana min ladunka rahmah, innaka antal Wahhab.

Aqimis-salah.
